The region boasts road and mountain cycling, along with hiking, as well as numerous ski and snowboard areas, including our favorites: Belleayre Mountain (run by the Olympic Regional Development Authority); Plattekill Mountain (family-owned and operated since the 1950s) in Roxbury, and nearby Hunter Mountain (the first ski area to install snowmaking machines in New York).
